Divorce and separation are among the most psychologically demanding experiences a person can go through — not least because the grief is complicated, the emotions are often contradictory, and the practical pressures rarely allow space for the emotional work that needs to happen. At London Trusted Therapy, we provide that space: expert, compassionate, and entirely focused on you.
Every practitioner at London Trusted Therapy holds substantial postgraduate training and professional accreditation, with a minimum of five years of clinical experience and an average of fifteen to twenty years across the team. Our practitioners include chartered and counselling psychologists, psychotherapists and counsellors accredited with the BACP, UKCP, COSRT and HCPC- all working under the clinical direction of Dr Olena Edwards-Skadowska, BACP Accredited Psychotherapist, MBPsS, FMBPsS, and actively practising clinician.
Dr Edwards-Skadowska is the recipient of the Outstanding Leadership Award for Services to Mental Health, presented at the Health 2.0 Global Conference 2024 — a recognition that reflects the values of excellence, integrity, and genuine clinical commitment that run through everything London Trusted Therapy does.

Separation frequently brings with it depression, anxiety, trauma, and in some cases, the surfacing of much earlier attachment wounds. Our multidisciplinary structure means that where your needs are complex, we can draw on the wider team — including EMDR for trauma and betrayal, psychiatric review where low mood or anxiety require it, or couples and co-parenting therapy where that would be beneficial. Everything is available within one practice.
For divorce and separation, this means honouring the full complexity of what you are experiencing. Psychodynamic and existential approaches provide the depth of exploration needed to process profound loss, identity disruption, and the renegotiation of meaning. Mindfulness-based approaches support your capacity to be present with painful emotion without being overwhelmed by it. Where betrayal or infidelity has created traumatic injury, EMDR offers a powerful pathway to processing and integration. Somatic approaches address the embodied experience of grief and shock. CBT and ACT are drawn on where practical coping, values clarification, and forward focus are helpful complements to the deeper work.
Should you feel that your first session did not meet your expectations or that your therapist wasn’t a good fit, we will provide another session completely free of charge with a different practitioner.
