We draw on DBT — the most evidence-based treatment for BPD — alongside schema therapy and mentalisation-based approaches. You will be met with consistency, warmth, and genuine clinical expertise.
A diagnosis of borderline personality disorder can feel like a label that closes doors. At London Trusted Therapy, it opens them. We approach BPD with genuine clinical expertise, evidence-based treatment, and the consistency and warmth that effective therapy for this condition requires. Significant, lasting improvement is not only possible — it is what we work towards together.
Every practitioner at London Trusted Therapy holds substantial postgraduate training and professional accreditation, with a minimum of five years of clinical experience and an average of fifteen to twenty years across the team. Our practitioners include chartered and counselling psychologists, psychotherapists and counsellors accredited with the BACP, UKCP, COSRT and HCPC- all working under the clinical direction of Dr Olena Edwards-Skadowska, BACP Accredited Psychotherapist, MBPsS, FMBPsS, and actively practising clinician.
Dr Edwards-Skadowska is the recipient of the Outstanding Leadership Award for Services to Mental Health, presented at the Health 2.0 Global Conference 2024 — a recognition that reflects the values of excellence, integrity, and genuine clinical commitment that run through everything London Trusted Therapy does.

BPD frequently presents alongside trauma, self-harm, dissociation, and complex relational histories. Our genuinely multidisciplinary structure means that where your care requires it, we can coordinate internal cross-referrals — to psychiatry for diagnostic clarification and medication review, to EMDR for trauma processing, or to other relevant specialists within the practice. You receive integrated, consistent care.
London Trusted Therapy is a holistic practice. We do not begin with a protocol and fit you to it — we begin with you.
For BPD, this means holding the full complexity of your experience with consistency, genuine warmth, and clinical rigour. Somatic Experiencing works at the physiological level where emotional intensity is so often first felt — building nervous system capacity and expanding the window of tolerance. Mindfulness-based approaches develop the capacity to observe intense emotional states without being wholly consumed by them. DBT provides the structured skills framework that is central to evidence-based BPD treatment. Schema therapy explores the deeper relational patterns and unmet needs that underlie the presentation. EMDR is integrated where trauma is a significant part of the picture. Mentalisation-based approaches support the development of reflective capacity in relationships. This is genuinely integrative work.
Should you feel that your first session did not meet your expectations or that your therapist wasn’t a good fit, we will provide another session completely free of charge with a different practitioner.
