Our thorough ADHD assessment integrates multiple evaluation methods to ensure accurate diagnosis.
Our ADHD assessments follow NICE guidelines (the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) and use DSM-5 diagnostic criteria to ensure your diagnosis is rigorous, recognised, and accepted by GPs, employers, and educational institutions. We use validated screening tools, comprehensive clinical interviews, and objective computerised testing (QbCheck) to ensure nothing is missed.
This means your assessment report carries the clinical weight needed to access medication, workplace adjustments, and ongoing NHS support.
ADHD is a lifelong condition with childhood onset, so understanding your early years helps establish whether
symptoms were present before age twelve, as required for diagnosis.
During this computerised test, you perform a continuous performance task while the system tracks your movements and measures your attention, activity level, and impulse control.
They include both self-report measures and, when possible, collateral information from family members, partners, or close friends who can provide external perspective on your symptoms. We review your medical history, as various medical conditions can mimic or coexist with ADHD.
While there’s no single cognitive test that diagnoses ADHD, patterns of cognitive strengths and weaknesses can support diagnostic formulation and inform interventions.
Research shows that ADHD and autism frequently co-occur, with studies suggesting that 30–80% of autistic individuals also meet criteria for ADHD. If you suspect you may have both conditions, our combined ADHD and autism assessment provides a comprehensive evaluation using gold-standard diagnostic tools including QbCheck for ADHD and ADOS-2 for autism.
A combined assessment avoids the need for separate appointments and ensures that overlapping or masking symptoms are properly identified. Our clinicians have particular expertise in recognising how these two conditions interact and influence each other.
A diagnosis is the beginning, not the end. Our ADHD Complete programme provides a clear, individually tailored pathway of support following assessment — combining the specialist services most likely to make a meaningful difference for you.
We know that the cost of ongoing private prescriptions is a real concern. That’s why we support shared care agreements with your GP wherever possible. Once your ADHD medication is stabilised by your psychiatrist, we provide your GP with a comprehensive report and treatment plan, making it straightforward for them to take over prescribing through the NHS. We’re happy to liaise directly with your GP practice to facilitate this transition and ensure continuity of care.
Regular review appointments allow us to track your progress, adjust strategies, troubleshoot emerging difficulties, and ensure your treatment remains effective as circumstances change. ADHD is a chronic condition requiring ongoing management, and we provide the consistent support you need to thrive long-term.
For clients who would benefit from medication as part of their ADHD management, we work in close collaboration with Dr Dmitri Popelyuk of Popelyuk Adult Psychiatry — one of London’s leading consultant psychiatrists in adult ADHD. The working relationship between our therapeutic team and our psychiatric partner is genuinely integrated: your therapist and psychiatrist communicate directly, coordinate your care, and work together to ensure your treatment is holistic and consistent rather than fragmented across providers. Clients consistently identify this integrated model as one of the most significant differences between their experience at London Trusted Therapy and care received elsewhere.
Therapeutic support forms a cornerstone of our ADHD Complete programme. While medication can be highly effective for core ADHD symptoms, therapy addresses the psychological, emotional, and functional impacts of living with ADHD. Many people with ADHD have experienced years of frustration, failure, and criticism, leading to low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, or shame. Therapy helps you process these experiences, develop healthier self-perception, and build psychological resilience.
We address emotional regulation difficulties that frequently accompany ADHD. Many people with ADHD experience intense emotions that feel overwhelming and difficult to manage. We teach emotion regulation skills, mindfulness techniques for present-moment awareness, strategies for managing frustration and anger, and approaches for handling rejection sensitivity. Learning to recognize, tolerate, and respond skillfully to emotions significantly improves daily functioning and relationships.
Therapy also addresses comorbid mental health conditions. Anxiety and depression frequently occur alongside ADHD, sometimes as direct consequences of ADHD struggles, other times as independent conditions requiring specific treatment. We provide integrated care addressing both ADHD and coexisting conditions, recognizing how they influence each other.
We utilize evidence-based approaches proven effective for ADHD. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for ADHD helps you identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to procrastination, avoidance, or negative self-talk. You'll learn cognitive strategies for managing ADHD challenges, develop problem-solving skills, address perfectionism or fear of failure, and build self-efficacy and confidence.
Beyond therapeutic support, our ADHD Complete programme includes practical coaching focused on developing concrete strategies and skills for managing ADHD in daily life. ADHD coaching is action-oriented, present-focused, and goal-directed, helping you build systems and structures that support your success.
helps you develop organisational systems that work with your ADHD brain rather than against it. We help you create sustainable filing systems, email management strategies, paperwork handling approaches, and household organisation methods.
Rather than imposing generic organisational systems, we help you discover what actually works for your specific brain, lifestyle, and challenges.
addresses the time blindness and poor time perception common in ADHD. You’ll learn strategies for estimating time more accurately, using timers and alarms effectively, breaking large tasks into manageable chunks, building in buffer time, and managing chronic lateness.
present major difficulties for many people with ADHD. We teach strategies for overcoming procrastination, getting started on difficult tasks, maintaining momentum, managing perfectionism that prevents completion, and following through consistently.
helps you distinguish between urgent and important tasks, make decisions about what truly matters, say no without guilt, and allocate your limited attention and energy strategically.
Many people with ADHD struggle with over-commitment and difficulty prioritising, leading to constant overwhelm.
We provide guidance on workplace accommodations and strategies, helping you understand your rights under disability law, request appropriate accommodations, develop systems that work in your specific job, manage workplace challenges, and advocate for yourself effectively.
Your ADHD assessment report isn’t just a diagnosis on paper – it’s a practical tool. Our comprehensive reports are written to support applications for workplace adjustments and reasonable accommodations under the Equality Act 2010, Access to Work funding, and Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA).
We also offer specialist coaching to help you navigate conversations with your employer about your ADHD, develop strategies for managing your workload, and advocate for the adjustments you need to perform at your best.
This type of coaching addresses how ADHD impacts interpersonal relationships. ADHD can strain relationships through forgetfulness, inconsistency, emotional reactivity, or apparent lack of interest when actually you’re struggling with attention.
If you suspect you might have ADHD, or if you have struggled for years without proper support, seeking assessment is a wise, brave decision. ADHD assessment isn’t about labeling or limiting you – it’s about understanding your brain so you can work with it rather than against it. Diagnosis opens doors to effective treatment, accommodations, self-understanding, and connection with others who share similar experiences.
Our ADHD Complete programme provides everything you need: objective, thorough assessment using the most advanced technology available; clear diagnosis and comprehensive evaluation; ongoing treatment support coordinating all aspects of your care; evidence-based therapy addressing psychological and emotional impacts; and practical coaching building real-world skills for success. We’re not just diagnosing ADHD – we’re partnering with you for the long term, supporting you in building the life you want.
