Dr. Sagari Sarkar is a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience working with children, young people, families and adults across NHS and various practice settings. She currently works within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in London and brings a strong background in both clinical psychology and developmental neuroscience to her therapeutic work.
Sagari completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at King’s College London and also holds a PhD in Developmental Neuroscience, alongside postgraduate training in neuroscience and psychology. Her combined clinical and research background allows her to integrate psychological theory, neurodevelopmental understanding, and evidence-based interventions in a thoughtful and individualised way.
Clinically, Sagari works with a wide range of presentations including anxiety, low mood, OCD, stress, behavioural difficulties, and neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD. She has extensive experience carrying out comprehensive psychological assessments, including cognitive and ADHD assessments, and works closely with families, schools and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
Her therapeutic approach is integrative and draws on a range of evidence-based models, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and narrative approaches. She is experienced in supporting parents through structured parenting interventions and has contributed to research-informed parenting programmes in collaboration with leading UK institutions.
Sagari has also worked in specialist settings including neurodevelopmental services, early intervention in psychosis, learning disability services, and older adult mental health. Her earlier work as a neuropsychology researcher at Great Ormond Street Hospital and King’s College London further informs her understanding of the links between brain development, early life experiences, and emotional wellbeing.
Sagari offers a warm, collaborative and formulation-led approach, working with individuals and families to understand difficulties in context and to support meaningful, sustainable change.
